Hi there, I am Guiyang Xin

I am a postdoctoral researcher working with Dr. Michael Mistry and Prof. Sethu Vijayakumar at the School of Informatics, University of Edinburgh. I am interested with motion planning and control of locomotion and manipulation. My research focuses on dynamic whole-body motion planning for legged robots, optimization-based control, parameter identification, dynamic modeling, model predictive control, force/position hybrid control. Previously, I had been a PhD student at the Central South University under the supervision of Prof. Hua Deng, and a visiting PhD student at the University of Edinburgh.

Currently, my work is related to NCNR project, ORCA project and THING project.

I believe that our future life will be surrounded by legged robots and autonomous cars. I hope that my work could contribute to this great vision and enable robots to become more widely used in a variety of applications.
